He Doesn't Want To Die Anymore

Kiran had been diagnosed with kidney failure and lived with constant problems—as well as horrible, horrible pain. “All the doctors I consulted told me that I had to take medicine the rest of my life,” Kiran recalls. “Hearing their words, I was very discouraged. But I had to get used to it.” Getting used to it didn’t help. Kiran took medication faithfully, but as each day passed, the pain grew worse. “I thought I would die soon,” Kiran says. But his future of pain and pills changed when a friend told Kiran about GFA Radio. The friend was a Christian and suggested that Kiran listen to the program. Kiran felt hope rise in his heart; he excitedly found the right station and began to listen. “The preacher spoke about the love of Jesus and His healing touch,” Kiran says. “At the end, the speaker prayed for us.” The radio speaker prayed for anyone with a physical illness, encouraging listeners to pray in faith for the Lord to heal them. Kiran prayed along with the speaker, believing that Jesus was able to take away his agonizing kidney condition even though doctors had told him it would never change. “After the prayer, I was relieved of my pain. I felt great peace in my heart!” he remembers. Kiran continued listening to the program, and the Lord completely healed him. Kiran started attending church with his Christian friend. Hearing the full news of Jesus’ love for him, Kiran decided to follow Christ. GFA Radio broadcasts hope across Asia in 113 languages, having started with its first program in 1986. Today these broadcasts have the potential to reach millions every day with messages that can lead people into a close walk with the Lord. Stories like Kiran’s are happening all across Asia as hurting and hopeless people hear of God’s love for the first time on GFA Radio.
