What happens in the Western world when a child is missing? Frantic family members do all they can to find that boy or girl. The police are called and national alerts are issued. But that's not how it works in South Asia. Parents of runaway and missing children generally receive little help from local authorities. Imagine trying—on your own—to find your runaway or kidnapped child in a country like India, which has a population of more than 1.1 billion people.
We have the privilege of praying for India's runaway, missing, kidnapped and abandoned children. As you pray for these boys and girls in harm's way, I ask you to pray as though it were a child in your own life who was in one of these tragic situations.

Pray for the children who are trapped in bonded labor. Child labor laws are sketchy or simply ignored in much of South Asia. It is not uncommon to see very young children working in restaurants or on farms—or even held captive in one of the region's notorious brothels.
Pray for the Gospel for Asia-supported missionaries who are working with runaway children. You can see a video about that work here.
Pray for children who are most vulnerable to kidnappers: the Dalits, the low-caste children and others who live in poverty. You can get to know them—and discover an answer to their dilemma- in this video
Pray for God to strengthen families, especially the families of believers. When parents and children love each other as Christ loves us, it creates a home which is a safe haven, rather than one from which children want to run away.
