Because movies tend to draw a lot of attention in South Asian villages, film team screenings, like the one shown here, have proven to be a powerful ministry tool.
Kiran, Chunni and Prabavathi are three of the people whose lives were changed that month. A GFA-supported film ministry team wanted to show the movie about Jesus in their village. At first, they had difficulty receiving permission from the village leaders, who feared that many people would turn to Christ and abandon their traditional religion.
But the Lord worked in the heart of the village head, and he finally gave the missionaries permission to show the film. This kind of movie had never been shown in the village before, and more than 100 people gathered to watch it. From beginning to end, people watched with great interest. It was evident the movie was touching their hearts. Even the village leaders were watching it!
Kiran, Chunni and Prabavathi, who range in age from 19 to 50, all chose to receive Christ after seeing the film. The team requests prayer for them that they will grow in Jesus and stay strong in their faith. Kiran, 19, specifically asks for prayer that he can forsake all of his past addictions and live fully for the Lord. Chunni, who is 27, also has a specific request. She struggles with lack of peace because of family problems and asks for prayer that the Lord will work out these problems and help her to walk more closely with Him.
