Sister's Visit Changed Brother's Life

7th July 2010

Iham made a phone call to his sister, seeking help from his terrible circumstance. And she was able to tell him about Christ.

Iham Nayar didn't think life was treating him or his family fairly. His 12-year-old son was so physically weak that he could neither talk nor walk, and Iham himself suffered from epilepsy. No one else around him seemed to struggle with the same ailments that plagued his family. Discouragement weighed heavily on his shoulders.

As the intensity of his disappointment increased, he decided to seek counsel from his sister, Vatsala. He called her and explained everything. Seeing the wide-open opportunity to share the Gospel with her brother, Vatsala went down to visit him. She shared her testimony of how she came to Christ and then encouraged Iham to trust in the Lord for healing and a better life. Before she left, she made sure to pray with him.

A few days later, Iham noticed his health was beginning to improve. When he remembered the words his sister had spoken to him and the prayers she offered, his curiosity in God grew. He began searching for a church to attend, and that's when he discovered Gospel for Asia-supported missionary Aghat Venkatesan's church.

Every Sunday, he and his family attended the worship services at Aghat's church. The pastor and the believers there constantly prayed for Iham, and the Lord heard. Soon, Iham was healed completely of his epilepsy, and his son began to speak a few words like "Amma" (Mom), "Appa" (Dad) and "Yesu" (Jesus).

Through these miracles, Iham devoted his life to Christ and made the decision that he would never leave Him for the rest of his life.
