Indirha was told she would die while she was pregnant. But God healed her and she delivered a healthy baby.
Reeling in disbelief, Indirha and her husband, Tonkar, sought out another doctor for a second opinion. This doctor confirmed the diagnosis—telling Indirha that she would not live long enough to deliver her baby.
The shocked family did the only thing they knew what to do—they began praying to the idols that represented the gods of their traditional religions. Meanwhile, Indirha's health continued to deteriorate. She finally gave up and just waited to die.
Seeing that their prayers and rituals to the idols were having no effect, Indirha's friends and family suggested meeting with Sundar Bai, a Gospel for Asia-supported missionary who lives in her village.
Tonkar and Indirha were desperate when they showed up at Sundar's church asking for prayer. He listened to this desperate couple's story. Sundar told them about Jesus and his love for them and then began to pray. He prayed for the woman and her baby, for complete healing of her body and for the continued healthy growth of the child. When his fervent prayers ended, Indirha experienced a peace like never before.
Over the next few days she started to feel better. She had more energy and was able to start doing her household chores again. A few months later, she gave birth to a healthy baby with no complications.
"The Lord has healed me completely and this was impossible with the doctors," she said. "He has given me a new life, and I will praise God and testify of His great name in all the surrounding places."
In addition to the physical healing Indirha received, her entire family chose to receive Jesus as their Savior. They are active members of the church were Sundar serves as pastor.
Now, every time someone sees Indihra and her children, they are reminded of the power of Jesus and the new birth He offers.
