Pray for GFA's Ministry to Children

Over the years, Gospel for Asia-supported missionaries have found that ministry to children is one of the most effective ways to reach the entire family. Sunday school classes for kids, Vacation Bible Schools, and, of course, GFA's Bridge of Hope are all ways that our missionaries are reaching out to the precious children of Asia. Here are some ways you can lift them up in prayer during the month of July:

Pray for Vacation Bible School

Kids everywhere love Vacation Bible School. They love the stories, the songs and all the activities. It's a super-charged week of intense learning packaged as fun. Who wouldn't like that? In Asia, summer break is from March to June, so that's when most churches have Vacation Bible School.

Ask the Lord to bless the workers, the children and the parents. Pray for many children to choose to follow Jesus during VBS. Also pray for their families to come to know Christ through these children and their newfound faith.

Pray for Sunday School

Children's Sunday schools can lead to a permanent church being established in many South Asian villages. Missionaries routinely visit unreached villages and invite the children to a Sunday school program, which allows them to introduce Jesus into the family. Villages that won't allow a missionary to come in and share the love of Jesus will often allow a Sunday school program for children.

Pray for the missionaries and workers involved in Sunday school programs. Pray that God will provide all their needs, and that He will give them deep love for the children and physical stamina for the job. Also, pray that the Sunday school teachers will be allowed in the children's homes to talk and pray with the parents.

Pray for Bridge of Hope

Of course, GFA's Bridge of Hope outreach is our single most effective ministry to children. Bridge of Hope is changing the lives of 60,000 children right now. They are receiving an education, hot, nutritious meals, clean clothing, medical care and the love of Jesus.

Please pray for more Bridge of Hope sponsors. We have thousands of children waiting to enter the program, but not enough sponsors to cover all the costs. Also, pray for favor in opening Bridge of Hope centers in new countries where children are in desperate need of the education, physical care and spiritual nourishment the program offers.

Pray for Youth Outreach

Gospel for Asia's ministry to children extends beyond the elementary school years. Many churches served by GFA-supported pastors have youth programs as well. In addition to the weekly classes and fellowships, missionaries come together to put on special youth camps where students can learn more about Christ.

Pray for the young people in the churches and those who attend the camps. Ask the Lord to draw them to Himself and for Jesus to be the center of their lives as they enter adulthood. Also pray that many of these young people will choose to serve Christ as missionaries and workers in their own countries.
