Gospel for Asia Bridge of Hope centers offer a place for more than 59,000 children to grow in both academic knowledge and the knowledge of the Savior. Through the Bridge of Hope outreach, children receive education in their scholastic disciplines and also learn practical skills, such as making handicrafts and maintaining proper hygiene. In addition, the compassionate dedication of the Bridge of Hope staff manifests Christ's love to them and their families.
But for the centers to positively impact the children and their communities, the Father must anoint, sustain and protect their ministry. Please intercede on behalf of all GFA's Bridge of Hope centers in South Asia.
At Bridge of Hope centers, children have the opportunity to learn about the Bible and prayer, and they encounter Jesus' love through the care and commitment of the staff. They often get to share this new hope with their parents, too.
Pray for students—and their families—to hear and understand the Good News, and pray God will bring them to the saving knowledge of His love.
Bridge of Hope staff members have an immense responsibility. In many cases, fewer than 10 people (including tutors, project directors and social workers) man a center serving more than 100 children. In order to pour into the lives of the children and their families, the BOH staff needs unity, training, energy and, above all, love from the Father
Pray God will give Bridge of Hope staff members the wisdom, strength, grace and protection they need to serve Him.
In many areas—especially in large cities—it is difficult to find land or buildings for Bridge of Hope centers. Often times, Bridge of Hope outreaches must rely on landlords who allow them to rent their buildings.
Pray God provides good buildings where Bridge of Hope outreaches can operate, and pray He grants the staff good relationships with landlords.
Bridge of Hope centers often conduct events to teach students civic values and to reach out to parents and communities. From Independence Day festivities to art contests to Parents' Day celebrations, these special occasions offer the chance for Bridge of Hope staff members to show what God has been doing in the students' lives and spread His love to the community.
Pray the Lord will use these events to open many hearts to the Gospel.
Sometimes Bridge of Hope outreaches have to be shut down due to adverse situations like flooding or ethnic violence between warring people groups. Occasionally, anti-Christian extremists attempt to prevent Bridge of Hope centers from operating.
Pray God protects the students and staff during such turmoil and that centers can continue functioning.
Although tens of thousands of students participate in the GFA Bridge of Hope outreach, many others still wander throughout slums and villages, stuck outside as they watch their friends receive an education, food and care at the centers.
Pray for 50,000 more children to be enrolled in Bridge of Hope.
